It's Thanksgiving Bitch

Thanksgiving.

A time of year where we pay tribute and respect to all that we are thankful for, to all that we are thankful for. It’s a day of reflection and day of spending in the company of family and friends. Of pumpkin pie and turkey legs, of parades and football and the smell of something burning on the stove top.

Ah, yes, Thanksgiving.

A time of thanks and heavy reflection.

Covid-19 says…NOT THIS YEAR BITCH.

Quite honestly, I’m getting really sick of Covid-19 and its disrespect.

Wishing to escape?

A little TV action…turn on the news, hello Covid-19 reminder and daily number chart.

Social media to ease the tension…political rants and reminders of the Covid cases in your local area, plus numerous reposts of news articles that date to the beginning of the pandemic, just to really let you have all the absorption of the tallying, in case, you know, you’ve been living under a rock for the last 10 months.

Online shopping to ease your anxiety…buy this now before Covid makes it impossible to ship or its out of stock due to crazy pandemic buyers who have a linen closet stacked with toilet paper to last them into literally 2022, but they have to have more.

An outdoor walk in the local park or around you neighborhood…the harsh stares and loud whispers of why you believe you are too entitled to wear a mask while outdoors in public.

Video chatting with family down the street because you can’t be in their house because it exceeds the number allowed…when the hell did we become a socialist country?! Right, right about the time we allowed fear of the government to strip away our humanity and self deserving rights.

Phew. Glad we cleared that up so I can go back to enjoying being held captive in my own house and being guilted into believing that if I step foot outside my house, if I so much as whisper to the wind that I want to see my family, a vicious creature will come and eat me alive for even thinking I had the right to do so.

Forgive me.

Did I offend you?

Don’t read it.

Don’t like what I have to say?

Don’t remember asking you.

Disagree?

Fine. We can disagree. I never said we couldn’t. That would be me, declaring that you no longer have that right.

Am I stepping over the line? Toeing more than anything.

Why?

Because it’s Thanksgiving.

And this year, I am thankful for free speech and Amazon Prime Shipping.

Happy Thanksgiving Bitch.
